London Guided Walk

With the theme ‘OUTSTANDING WOMEN OF WESTMINSTER AND BEYOND’ a group of KIC Ladies joined a two-hour walking tour around central London to find out about some of the fiercest and most inspirational women throughout British history. Our knowledgeable Blue Badge Guide James told us stories of some of the women who have made a difference with their acts of compassion, kindness, courage, and sheer bloody-mindedness, often in the face of seemingly insurmountable opposition. The walk took us around beautiful and iconic buildings, memorials (and a trendy club of the 1960s) and introduced us to women connected to these landmarks, such as Eleanor of Aquitaine, Edith Covell, Betty Boothroyd, the Suffragettes, Grand Duchess and Angela Burdett Coutts.
